JOB INTERVIEW
OBJECTIVE:
- To get the job.
- If not chosen for the required job position, to leave an impression on the employer to keep you in mind for other suitable job positions in the future, or keep your data in its database.
Of course, one of the objectives is improving your presentation, i.e. gaining confidence when applying for job in the future.
PREPARATION:
- Learn the basic data on employer (activity, code of conduct, location, amount of the salaries etc.).
- Update your own resume and see what you've stated in the application.
- Dress in compliance with the dress code of the employer.
- Be on time (do not come too soon, but also do not be late)
COMING TO THE INTERVIEW:
- Come to the interview few minutes before the scheduled time.
- Introduce yourself to the interlocutor; the handshake depends on the situation you are in, if your interlocutor stands up to greet you, you should compulsory reach out to shake hands and introduce yourself with a smile.
- If you are not offered to sit down, you should ask where you can sit.
- Sit upright, make eye contact with your interlocutor; stay calm, always concentrated.
- Of course, maintain a positive attitude!
COURSE OF THE INTERVIEW:
- Answer the questions.
- Do not interrupt the interlocutor while talking.
- Try to answer fluently, clearly and concisely.
- Show the interlocutor that you are listening and participating in the conversation.
- Try to be calm and reduce your nervousness.
- Use appropriate language expressions suitable for the employer.
- Be prepared for possible questions you might be asked, for example, to emphasize some advantages for the job for which you are applying.
- Prepare neutral answers to questions that can present you in a bad light.
- Prepare answers from your own experience to questions on handling stressful situations, solving problems, handling emergencies.
- When describing your own weaknesses, those should be "weaknesses" that are good for the employer (for example, excessive responsibility, precision, efficiency...).
END OF THE INTERVIEW:
- Get up and shake hands with the interlocutor.
- Thank the interlocutor for the given opportunity to introduce yourself.
- Ask when you can expect feedback on the results of the competition and how you will be informed.
- When leaving, keep in mind: smile and have positive attitude always and everywhere!
